HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

TIDA was inspired in the name of a former
volunteer called Tondji, He committed most part of his time in human community development activities in the village called Etamniat, Sub division of Mbangassina, in the division of Mbam et Kim in Center Province of Cameroon.Unfortunately. He was severely sick and when the counselor made him aware of his situation as HIV/AIDS patient he called his closest volunteer and told him to exhort the other volunteers to let many people know that HIV/AIDS truly existe. Some days after he died on 17th February 2000.
Then the volunteers left behim him gethered together to creat an association called " Tondji Internationnal Development Association -abreviated TIDA"
On the 30th November 2000, TIDA was legalised officially.And the members decided to keep the name "Tondji" which for them means " Solidarity" aslo mentionned "International" for " Ready to sensibilise outside Cameroon".
TIDA later on, embraced the ideology of new humanism for the reason that we can never obtain a sustainable development in a community where there are violences, discriminations, injustice and violation of basic human right.

INDENTIFICATION

TIDA is a humanist association, non-political, non-religious and non-profit organization.

HIS ULTIMATES GOALS§

* Pointing out at the consciousness of the human beings by capitalizing at feeling of humanism against poverty, violences, discrimination, injustice, violation of the basic human right, all the elements that are very dangerous for sustainable development

Targeting the rural and urban poor areas to undertake collective actions for sustainable development projects on health, Education, Community development and Environmental Protection.

MISSIONS

HEALTH

TIDA Promotes:

§ Mobilization for prevention against HIV/AIDS virus Malaria, cancers, polio,

§ Mobilization for sanitation mode of living, nutrition and vaccination medical plants treatment among the poor.

§   The construction of first Aids Center and Equipment.

§    Assistance for victims of sinister, war , road accident, Aids, epidemics,

§    Mobilization against tobacco and narcotic drugs.

EDUCATION

TIDA Promotes:

§      Computer literacy for both poor young men and women.

§      School construction and Equipment for classrooms .

§     Center for alphabetization.

§      Projects on implementation of non violence in basic schools §    Vocational training centers for women.

§     Construction of social training centers for street children and orphans of poor family.

§      Care for education of orphans victims of HIV/AIDS virus underpriviledge children.and girls education.

§       Family planning education.

§       Physical and fitness education .

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

TIDA promotes:

§ The initiation of the collectivity and cooperatives for better management of community resources.

§    The initiation project of agriculture roads, safe drinking water research. Local markets in the rural areas.

§      Support to income generating activities for women.

§       Assistance for needy people, orphans street children.

§    non violence and good governance within the communities.

                 ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

TIDA promotes:

§    The soil conservation and its values.

§          Actions against environmental    Pollution and desertification.

§          The community forestry management .

§          The participation into the research project on impact evaluation on environment.

§    Birding projects and reaserch.

THE PLAN OF ACTION

§          To forms groups and cooperatives for sustainable resources management.

§          Initiate training on the field .

§          To organize seminars, workshops, conferences and Sensibilisation.

§          To cooperate with the village development committees, local development association common initiate groups, local NGOs and international NGOs for the realization of project.

§          Under take the communication network for information between TIDA and population.

FINANCEMENT

TIDA is self financed till now and the contributions of any sympathizer for the success of TIDA shall be welcome and be taking into consideration.
